LaBelle Mariposa collection of EnVision Cards

As an artist, I love painting monarchs! They are so beautiful. Their colors are striking and lovely. I also love what they represent. For me, and for many others, we are reminded of transformation because they change from caterpillars to butterflies. I have received emails from people who share that they have other meanings to them. The butterfly sanctuary in Santa Cruz, CA is also an important place to my sweetie, Jim, and I.

For these four cards, I used scans of paintings that I've done and incorporated them into cards that remind of four lovely sentiments.

EnVision Cards or ATC/ACEO Art trading cards with a specific purpose

This blog is entitled EnVision Cards because I am sharing a wonderful idea with all my friends (those I know as well as those who I only touch here) Artist Trading (ATC) cards were originally invented so that artists could trade tiny works of art among themselves. The only rules for ATC's was that they must be 2.5 by 3.5 and never sold, only traded. Because some artists wanted the option of selling their work, and many collectors wanted a chance to own a piece of original art at a fraction of the price of a larger piece, ACEO's were created. Art Cards, Editions and Originals or ACEO's follow the same rule about size, but what the artists does with them is their own choice. I love that their are no other restrictions. You can paint, sew, stamp, use stickers, glue just about anything you can think of on them and their still ACEO's if they are 2.5 by 3.5.

While all creative options are open where these tiny works of art are concerned, EnVision cards have a very special role to play. EnVision Cards are tiny worlds of art that support people in living their lives with positive intention. They can be created by the owner themselves, or by someone else. The point is that they have a message that the holder values. They can be traded, gifted, or sold. The method of exchange is not important, what matters is the way the card makes the holder feel.

It is my hope that this will catch on and many people will have the benefit of a tiny, pocket sized bit of love and support to carry on their journeys.

Here are some early pieces that I made. I hope you enjoy them. :)
